Activities
- Around fifty exhibitors in relation to the tomato and its savours.
- Culinary demonstrations and tastings including all day participation of “The Disciples d’Auguste Escoffier” and everything surrounding paprika with the Hungarian Chef Istvan HALASZ (at 11am and 4:30pm).
- Drawing competition for children up to 12 years old.
- Competition for the general public: Create and submit your own tomato and paprika recipe during the festival. The chosen winner will receive a tomato prize, and their recipe will be published on Château de la Bourdaisière’s social media.
- The “taste workshop” run by Aesio Mutuelle.
- Guess the weight competition: correctly guess the weight of the gourmet basket, and win the basket and its contents!
Workshops and conferences
- Visit of the National Tomato Conservatory followed by a Q&A with our Head Gardener, Nicolas Toutain (at 10.30am and 3pm)
- Workshop “How to harvest tomato seeds for sowing” run by the “Graines de Troc” association.
- Conference on paprika hosted by Norbert Somogyi, scientific adviser to the Hungarian Embassy, who will reveal the history and secrets of Hungarian paprika (at 3.30pm)
- Conference on food and well-being, hosted by Yosi Goasdoué, professional athlete (at 2.30pm)
Tomato market
- Sale of organic tomatoes in a variety of colours, produced by Jacky Mercier, specialist in old varieties of tomatoes.
- Around 10 tomato products stamped “Château de la Bourdaisière” will also be on sale.

Full price: €7.50
Reduced price: €5.50: unemployed persons, students, Montlouis residents, groups of more than 20 people. (Proof required).
FREE for children under 10 years old.
Free parking.
Picnics are not allowed.
