Prince Louis Albert de Broglie, owner of La Bourdaisière and Maison Deyrolle, is an artist, a storyteller, a poet, and a man of gardens—and more specifically, of edible gardens where the practical blends with the pleasurable. He was nicknamed “The Gardener Prince” in the early 1990s when he founded the Conservatoire de la Tomate at the Château de La Bourdaisière, which later became the Conservatoire National de la Tomate. He went on to create the Dahlia Conservatory, Ferme d’Avenir—a project to develop micro-farms inspired by agroecology—and the Forest and Wood Festival. So what could be more natural than to envision a lifestyle collection for gardeners in cities and the countryside, inspired by the art of living at La Bourdaisière? Today, the story of the Prince Jardinier becomes a family affair with his nephew Nicolas and Nicolas’s wife Julie.
